Opened in 1992 as the first italian style coffee-house of heart of Buda, Cafe Gusto quickly became well-known for its fine tiramisu, loin carpaccio and foie gras. Our restaurant can be found in Frankel Leo street next to Margaret Bridge, just few minutes walk from Danube.
A centenary building displays the traditional feeling while an all-season opened terrace contributes to an austrianish atmosphere. Offering local bakery products and various kinds of breakfast, our guests can make a choice out of coffee specialities and innumerous tea varieties.
We recommend our freshed pressed juices, several lemonades, smoothies and home made syrups free from preservatives on sunny days. Besides a la Carte dining daily menu is also available as well as our chef’s dishes.
In the evening our special italian cheese-ham creation and our sea fruits are the most popular offers. Our exclusive beverages include top quality international prize winner Malatinszky wines.
Wine list extremely well- curated, friendly service and really recommendable meals, including the homemade smoked salmon, which is unforgettable. Nice cozy spot in a sweet neighborhood near Margit Island. We really enjoyed our visit!
The one and the only place in Budapest where you can have a real beef carpaccio! You can rely on tiramisu as well. Very enjoyable place, great staff, good wines.
Courtesy, kindness, consideration, heavenly wines and lovely, healthy dishes.
My regular haunt in Budapest. Good feeling in a friendly environment. Tempting and tasty foods, and the Belgian brown Leffe. Received the best winesat all times.
We wanted somewhere different from the usual touristy restaurants and found the perfect place. It's tiny with great atmosphere and a super friendly staff. The food is excellent, we were surprised to find real Italian delicacies in the middle of Budapest.
Friendly serving, top wines and kitchen, I recommend it to everybody!
We enjoyed the simple surroundings where you can smoke. Only cold food & lots of drink. Gusto is quite a character and the meals are wonderful & filling.
Fabulous drinks and food, 100% recommendation!
We loved the very well selected rose wine in particular, but there were also some terrific reds at amazingly low prices. We also enjoyed the food, including the rustic plate, which was a stunning amount of very good quality cheeses and meats with toast. We'd definitely recommend it for any time of day.
Finding Cafe Gusto was a nice touch to our time in Budapest. The first time we went there it was a little difficult communicating with the staff, but luckily an English-speaking customer helped us with our order. The place is well organized and their music selection - which is jazzy - makes you want to stay longer and order one of their really good cappuccinos. We liked it so much we came back a second time, and will continue to do so when we are back in Budapest.
Nice food, friendly service, good bread and on top of that the best chocolate and strawberry cream pie I ever ate!
Order the 'taster' plate - a little foie gras, smoked salmon, carpaccio, prawns, parma ham, salami... And plenty of toast for around €10 - amazing food and amazing value. One of the owners always present, so superb service. Thankfully now no smoking inside at least - the only negative is the smokers outside ruining the wonderful streetside table ambiance.
